Why is this important?

Construction of Capital Improvement Projects in the San Diego Region enhances quality of life, promotes safety and sustainability, and offers more mobility options for people and goods.

How is this measured?

Based upon information used from  SANDAG, 11 jobs are created (of which 7 is direct and 4 is indirect) per year in the San Diego region for every $1,000,000 of money spent on Capital Improvement Projects.  Tracked quarterly, the total dollar value of awarded construction projects will give us an indication of how many jobs are created in the San Diego Region.
The Engineering Services Division provides professional level project management, engineering and construction contract services for roads, bridges, drainage, water, wastewater and utilities in the unincorporated area of San Diego County.
